Guest Heirloom Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Re: Windows Me Startup sound I don't recall the specific folder or location, however, if you look in the Control Panel, you should see something in reference to "Sounds and Audio Devices" or something similar. Open that and select the 'Sounds' tab. There you should find the different Windows sounds and the individual sound applied to a specific action or event. The 'browse' button will show you additional .wav files available and the 'play' button (right arrowhead) will allow you to preview the sound. You can also assign any .wav file (possibly other sound formats, but, I know the .wav files work), do a search of your computer for *.wav and you will find many that can be used. The actual Windows startup sound should be amongst those found in your search. Hope that answers your question........ Heirloom, old and can't hear 'em anyway "astrodog19" <astrodog19@DONOTSPAM.com(DO NOT SPAM)> wrote in message news:25DC4852-45EB-44BE-9449-C8CAA336FDCB@microsoft.com... > hello all. i am trying to find the Windows 2000/Windows Me startup sound > but > i cannot seem to find it. i do not have a Windows 2000 or Windows Me > disc. > does anyone know where i can find it? please let me know. > > thank you > -- > -astrodog19
