Guest Wolfeymole Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 He should have; Anti Virus Firewall Super Antispyware and Malwarbytes and any of the others listed here in Misc. http://extremetechsupport.com/forum/malware-removal-av-firewalls-etc/3597-free-pc-help-recommended-security-products.html Quote
RandyL Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Antivirus and antispyware. The Windows firewall is ok but you could opt for a better one. For free antivirus you should go with Antivir or Avast. For free antispyware I use Spywareblaster and Windows Defender. For free firewalls are user choice. Plastic Nev Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 You cannot go wrong with those we recommend here Bob, Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help Recommended Security products Either one of the two anti-virus, Avira or Avast, do remember only one, not both. Malwarebytes, Superantispyware and Spywareblaster are my own personal favourites, and again my personal for firewall is Commodo. There is enough there to keep most of the rogues at bay without getting too complicated. best of luck with your friend and hope he comes and has a look round here once set up on line.
