Internet Explorer 7 Security Warning

I was coming home from the airport today having been out of touch for a while and heard a warning delivered over the radio in Ireland warning people not to use IE7 and switch to another browser until Microsoft clears up a serious security breech. I admit that I was half asleep at the time but it seems important enough to at least alert our members to the possibility of a serious problem.

 

According to the report I heard Microsoft has acknowledged the problem.

How do I get the new IE security patch?

 

Hi, does anyone know where I can get the Internet Explorer security patch needed thats been in the news?

 

I'm using IE 8 beta 2 at the moment and been onto the Microsoft website but can't find anything. I've got automatic updates turned on and searched for updates on Microsoft Update.

 

Any ideas anyone? Thanks, Jonny.

Further update!! I have not seen the patch as yet but it is early in the States.

I believe this is the update; Microsoft Download Center Search Results . KB960714, you will have to choose which browser and OS, to download the right one . This is in case it hasn't come up in Windows Update.

I believe Sangfroid that it has come up but only if you go manually and check for updates thanks for the reminder though.

It installed fine on my XP sp3 machine but Vista sp2 beta won't have it. :(
