Gav Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Hi, I have trouble with a mother board not being able to reconise the hard disk ( maxtor 40 GB) the MB is a Dell 2,66 GB (bougt secondhand to do a up grade) and when I go into the bios there comes a box with " enter setup password . (---------) I don´t know the password, I can not change any of the settings in the bios ??? I can see the CD drive in the bios but no hard drive, any idears Gav...

Guest Wolfeymole Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 I can't see how you can get into the bios without the password Gav, are you simply talking about the initial POST screen before the bios password screen?

Gav Posted December 17, 2008 Author Posted December 17, 2008 I can go into the bios but this box comes up, I can see the bios behind the box, I can press Esc and the box goes away but I can´t do any thing in the bios like change the boot order or set the time and date.... Gav..
