Hi, I have trouble with a mother board not being able to reconise the hard disk ( maxtor 40 GB) the MB is a Dell 2,66 GB (bougt secondhand to do a up grade) and when I go into the bios there comes a box with " enter setup password . (---------) I don´t know the password, I can not change any of the settings in the bios ??? I can see the CD drive in the bios but no hard drive, any idears

I can't see how you can get into the bios without the password Gav, are you simply talking about the initial POST screen before the bios password screen?

I can go into the bios but this box comes up, I can see the bios behind the box, I can press Esc and the box goes away but I can´t do any thing in the bios like change the boot order or set the time and date....
