error deleting file or folder - in use by another person or program

Hi

I downloaded he client for Dark Age of Camalot (online game) left the pc overnight (big download) in the morning it crashed (hung) the file is sitting on my desktop at 0 bytes and i cannot delete it. Tried restarting in safe node too...

 

win xp media centre edition sp3

2gig ram

fatality s/c

nvidia 8800 gtx

 

any ideas..

yyeah i did from site which redirected t multiple download servers

Try the easy fix. Do a System Restore to a point before the download.

 

After that try the filefront link it seemed like it would work.

Another option would be to try and delete the option using Unlocker. A very handy tool to delete stubborn files. :)

thank you unlocker was most helpful...explorer had it locked fro some reason...hmmm.

Just as a final note - no matter where i get the file from it will stop downlading at some point - wont resume and i have to unlock the file everytime...so im giving up lol

It seems that there seems to be a server issue at the location where the file is being hosted. It would be better if you stay away from the downloads till the issues are resolved. Alternately, you could try downloading it from here.
