TheSlee Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Hi, I was just wondering if a processor has a higher FSB than the motherboard, will it work? (e.g. Processor FSB - 1300 Motherboard FSB - 1066) I was just wondering because a friend asked me because he is thinking of building a PC, but he was unsure about compatibility. Quote

Dalo Harkin Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 It depends - normally you would have to OC the MOBO and some MOBO's are frankly rubbish at OC'ing. Have a look at the MOBO website as there may be a BIOS update to support the higher FSB Quote Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)Asus P5K premium black pearl4GB OCZ Reaper 8500260GTX Join Free PC Help - Register here Donations are welcome - here PC Build We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. After all, no one knows everything and you may have the answer that someone needs.
