Guest pete0085 Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 I have been trying to prevent my documents from synchronizing. I turned off/disabled offline folders via group policy and for some users it is synching the my documents and there is no offline folder tab to disable offline folders becuase of the group policy setting. Is there something I can do so my documents doesn't do a synch?

Guest pete0085 Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Re: synchnorization of mydocuments I did disable caching of offline folders. Is there something else missing?? Guest Mathieu CHATEAU Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Re: synchnorization of mydocuments If you did it on the share folder level (from the server..), then offline folder can't work anymore. To be sure we are speaking of the same thing: My computer right click manage shared folders Shares right click + properties Offline Settings Select "Files or programs from the share will not be available offline." -- Cordialement, Mathieu CHATEAU English blog: http://lordoftheping.blogspot.com French blog: http://www.lotp.fr "pete0085" <pete0085@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:83B2FF39-339B-4360-B0D3-A99C3CE3F1B3@microsoft.com... >I did disable caching of offline folders. Guest pete0085 Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Re: synchnorization of mydocuments Well the way the folder is set up is a little backwards. The "private data" folder is not shared, but the folders within for each user is shared, but with only the user given permissions. I'm going to sharing and security - caching button. I didn't see an offline settings tab. Guest Mathieu CHATEAU Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Re: synchnorization of mydocuments This is not in the security tab, but in the sharing tab (where you set the name of the share). You would do as i mentionned from the server, on every share you do not want offline feature -- Cordialement, Mathieu CHATEAU English blog: http://lordoftheping.blogspot.com French blog: http://www.lotp.fr "pete0085" <pete0085@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:2F0B3033-A517-4236-857D-64D5F948A3B9@microsoft.com... > Well the way the folder is set up is a little backwards.
