bigmack73 Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 I am adding a new hard drive so that I would have two. After installing the new hard drive, can't seem to initialize it. I am using XP. The only place I can't see is in "my computer" folder. All I see is a red circle with a white line through it. When I right click on it to initialize it, it does nothing. Quote
maynardvdm Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 Hi bigmack Does the bios pick it up and is the jumper settings on it correct. Is it ATA or SATA. Did you format the disk? bigmack73 Posted April 6, 2007 Author Posted April 6, 2007 I installed a different antivirus program. After almost a week of battle, now I can initialize it and format it. Maybe the virus as prevented me to do this. Now after a couple more weeks, the computer crashed. So everything is back to normal. With the new hard drive working 100%. Quote
