Hey devlin,

following these steps should result in you seeing the information about your soundcard, please post the results for us to see.

  1. Click the Start Button and then click "Programs".
  2. Next, click the "Accessories" and then "System Information".
  3. Within the "System Information" window, click the "+" symbol next to "Components".
  4. Click "Sound Device" (or "Multimedia" and then "Sound Device") and in the right-side of the window you should be able to locate complete information about the sound card.

And what computer do you have?, make, model, 32bit or 64bit OS, etc.

Hi Devlin try this, remove the sound card, if not already out. Then search for the driver, hopefully going back to the restore point, the driver shouldn't be there, but if it is uninstall it. Then first install the drivers from the disk, then install the card. Let us know if that works. Edited by Plastic Nev

Hi, Devlin, thanks for the feedback and I am glad all is now OK.

A tip for any future hardware installs, if it comes with a driver disk, always install the drivers from the disk first before installing the hardware, unless any instructions say otherwise.
