cd will not play

just tonight as i placed a music cd in my d drive i got an error message: d:/this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. create an association in the set associations control panel.

 

the disc will play ok when i select my computer, d drive, right click and auto play.

 

this is on my laptop, a toshiba satellite pro a210, amd athlon 64 x2, 120gb hdd, 2gb ram, running vista premium.

 

i just sorted this out.

i had auto play set to real player which i have recently uninstalled.
