Guest Wolfeymole Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Tonight my old IDE 80Gb HDD from an ex Dell box and was encased in a caddy passed away, just like that. Thankfully there were just a few obscure misc files on it. I shall mourn it. No flowers by request. Quote
BeeCeeBee Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 On behalf of all at Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help I express my sincere condolences on this tragic loss. I know that you will do the right thing and bury it in its beloved caddy and not simply separate it in death from its true home. Quote "Familiarity breeds contempt - and children." Mark Twain
Goku Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 My condolences for the drive too. It helped you out of many tricky spots and the likes of such are not common today. May its cables rest in peace. -- Goku Quote
RandyL Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 I know it is of little consolation but it had a rich and full life. Quote We are all members helping other members. BeeCeeBee Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Considering that it was your hard drive Wolfey, I am not inclined to rule out suicide!! Calling in the Yorkshire CSI team. Move nothing!!! Quote "Familiarity breeds contempt - and children." Mark Twain
Goku Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Considering that it was your hard drive Wolfey, I am not inclined to rule out suicide!! Calling in the Yorkshire CSI team. Move nothing!!! Or possibly murder? I think the Scotland Yard should be informed of this too. -- Goku Quote
BeeCeeBee Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 I don't think so Goku. The drive was used as a primary slave and we all know that Wolfey is a strong believer in slavery. I doubt he would kill one. But lets wait for the ME report on cause of death and leave all option open. Quote "Familiarity breeds contempt - and children." Mark Twain
Guest Wolfeymole Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 My beloved HDD was not set as Primary Slave, Secondary Slave or any form of Slave whatsoever. Outrageous aspersions are being bandied about like confetti and I am truly alarmed. I may consider making a new User Group called Slaves after this most distressing event. :p Quote
BeeCeeBee Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 "Outrageous aspersions- distressing event- truly alarmed." These seem like the words of someone trying to deflect attention. Perhaps Goku is on to something after all! Quote "Familiarity breeds contempt - and children." Mark Twain
Goku Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 I may consider making a new User Group called Slaves after this most distressing event. Ah, and you hope that other tyrants will join you in your venture. I will never let that happen! Come to think of it, the drive might just be a victim or hindrance in one of Wolfey's plans for evil dominance. :p -- Goku Quote
