Guest Chris Swinney Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 Hi, Not sure where this question will go as there is no specific Vitual Server 2005 newsgroup. We run different guest OS system on a Virtual server, some of which are shared client OS's (for testing etc - more effeciient than using Virtual PC). Users can connect using the VMRC client to control use these OS's, but if a client is disconnected, the Guest OS remain running, so consuming Host OS resources. Is there any way to get the guest OS to go into a "saved state" if no longer needed. I can't see that any of the script options will do what I need, but I'm not sure. Chris
Guest Chris Swinney Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 RE: Virtual Server 2005 - can Guest OS be timed to "save state" I wonder if anyone has any thought on this? Guest Chris Swinney Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 RE: Virtual Server 2005 - can Guest OS be timed to "save state" My guess is this is not possible. A real shame but would be nice a a future addition, especially in enviroment where the virtual machines are set up as tempoary test areas or labs that do not need to be run all the time.
