Hi

I'm setting up a new, 1st DC.

I have tried pinging it from our other office over a VPN. IP address

range of this office is xxx.xxx.55.0.

I can ping other PC's and device's in all three offices without no

problem.

I can ping the DC from within its ofiice. IP address range of this

office is xxx.xxx.66.0.

Whats my problem?

Chris...

Re: Cannot ping DC over VPN

I assume you mean a Firewall on the DC. I will check on Monday.

If you mean th Firewalls on the VPN then I can ping other PC's and

device. If you mean a firewall on the DC (Server 2003) then I can ping

it with in the local office.

I'll check it tomorrow.

Thanks

Chris...

Re: Cannot ping DC over VPN

Yes. I can ping any device from either office apart from the DC. I can

only ping the DC from the same office.

Could it be something to do with the subnet and the setting up of

Sites and services (which is not at present)?

Would the DC prevent other subnets pinging to itself if its NOT in it

subnet ie office.

I'll will try a Traceroute tomorow as well as checking Firewall

settings.
