Redirect of startmenu

Hi,

we tried to redirect the startmenu via a group policy.

It works fine with one menu.

But now we will use cumulative menus.

We have one standard menu with Office and want to have some additional menus

for special programs.

What is working is:

one menu with office

one menu with office and special program1

one menu with office and special program2

one menu with office and special program1 and program2

But is it possible to have:

one menu with office

one menu with special program1

one menu with special program2

and set this cumulative for security groups?

I have not found a solution for that.

If I try to use the setting -extended- under -user config - windows - folder

redirection - startmenu - and the logged on user is a member of two security

groups listed in this box, then only the last startmenu will be used.

Regards

Florian

Re: Redirect of startmenu

Hi,

Redirect the start menu to a network location and use

ntfs permissions to grant which security groups have

access to the submenus under Programs.

Make sure you download, install and enable Access

Based Enumeration on the server that stores the menus.

With this users will only see folders they have access to

like on a Novell system; meaning if they only have

permissions to Office and special program1 subfolders

that is all that will show up on their menu.

Windows Server 2003 Access-based Enumeration
