quaytec Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Hi just installed webcam on my pc which is only 2 months old. When i open web cam centre i get message telling me my memory space is low is there any way i can test it i have 3Gb of ram on it. I have had doubts over the performance of the pc so think there may be a memory problem. Thx Quote

quaytec Posted January 3, 2009 Author Posted January 3, 2009 Warning message is a box with CTLV in top corner i assume it's creative's own ,and say's "your computer is low on memory". As regards my doubts over memory pc tends to freeze a lot ie waiting a long time for simple programs to open. Done all the spyware, virus checks all ok Quote

BeeCeeBee Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 I am not sure where you looked (msconfig?) and what I am suggesting may have no effect on your web cam problem but at the same time it may. There is no point in having programs that you rarely use start up each time you boot. Disabling them from the start in msconfig will not interfere with your use of them as needed I have seen some of these insufficient memory warnings turn out to amount to nothing. Try going into your system tools and doing a disc cleanup. I am not a vista user myself but you may have to select run as an administrator. Also look into add and remove programs and dump any unneeded toolbars such as google, Yahoo etc. Quote "Familiarity breeds contempt - and children." Mark Twain
Diurno Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 (edited) Can you please open 'My Computer' right-click 'Properties' and tell us if it is detecting the 3Gb of RAM. You can also run this memory diagnostic test from Microsoft.
