Hello Everyone!

I have one of them LCD Posters that came with my motherboard, Asus Maximus Extreme.

It worked well for the first months but not it's stuck with the annoying blue light on and all it says is CPU INIT. I know that the CPU is working fine so I think it's a problem with the LCD poster.

I've tried to disconnect it and connect it again, I even cleared the CMOS.

Any ideas?

Hello Tootech,

Heres a pic of one.

From asus website:

Debug with translation

When system malfunction occurs, LCD Notice Board automatically detects for device failure and posts physical system errors on the LCD during POST. No more reading "gibberish to find out what´s wrong.

They are literally called LCD POSTER

Hi Diurno, looking at both the link for the mother board, and also the device photograph, the "Poster" is a device to inform you of any fault on the motherboard or peripherals of the machine in general. Quite a good idea actually, but if the computer and motherboard are working perfectly OK, it does indeed look like a fault in the "Poster" device itself. Unfortunately a case of the diagnoser needing diagnosing eh?

I wouldn't worry too much about it, and just disconnect it if the computer itself is OK. You never know, a week turned off it may work properly again later. These things do sometimes happen. I suppose it is now too late to send it back under warranty?

:D :D :D Hahaha. Guess so yeah

It's not too late for the warranty but, haha :D my little sister decided to play with it so it lost some letters and the symbol.

I will just disconnect it.

Thanks anyway

Thanks for the info, now I know what it does.

There are many similar POST diagnostics cards on the market - I tried a cheap ebay one a few years ago - waste of money!

Perhaps not in your case though.

I would say if your PC is running ok, forget about it.

If you are concerned, can you get hold of Asus and see what they say?

Oki, I will email them or look in their forums.

Thanks anyway
