Guest Petrus Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 Re: Lost "current date" from taskbar Hi, got the same problem. Advice below does not help. In addition to the clock, I also have the name of the day in the taskbar - can't get rid of it. I don't need it, but I NEED the date! I have no third party software for this task, just basic XP Pro. Change the display in Control Panel, Regional and Language Options, Regional Options, or Customize area. hth, -- Joe =o)
Guest Bob I Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 Re: Lost "current date" from taskbar Re: Lost "current date" from taskbar That's somewhat odd. Try r-click Taskbar, Properties, UNtick "show clock", Apply, then Tick Show Clock, and apply. See if the toggling off and on resets it. If that doesn't do it I would go to Regional and Language Option and then Advanced and play with the Short Date, set it to someting different, apply, and change it back and Apply. Guest PGJMB Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Re: Lost "current date" from taskbar Re: Lost "current date" from taskbar I have the same problem. The date was the only thing that use to show on my taskbar. But, since Windows SP3 update, I now have the time and day of the week, e.g., Monday, displayed on two separate lines. If I enlarge the taskbar, the date is shown as well, but it requires a really large taskbar. What is worse, I have tried to customize my taskbar the way it was before and discovered that my options "always show, always hide and hide when inactive" cannot be changed from their present settings. So, if an icon is set to always hide, I cannot change the setting to always show, as was the case before the SP3 update. No third party programs and apparently, no viruses. Hope someone can assist.
