Hi,

I have installed a single windows server 2003 and installed active directory.

I have also installed windows terminal server and terminal server licencing

server

on it to use it as a terminal server for about 10 clients.

All users have been put into the remote Desktop users group.

The remote desktop users group has been given the right to log on through

terminal services

My problem is when I RDP in as administrator I can browse the web OK ,

but when I RDP in as a normal user I can only browse Microsoft sites and our

ISPs sites all other sites are unavailable

I have tried setting security down as low as possible in the browser

properties ,

but that did not fix it.

Is there somewhere I shoud be giving normal users permision to browse the

web without putting them into the administrators group ?

Thanks

Lex

Have you tried disabling IE Enhanced Security in the Add/Remove

Programs|Windows Components? I've found that feature can really lock down

your users web browsing.

RE: RDP users can not browse using terminal server

Hi there,

Yes to turn off that IE Enhanced security is always the first thing I do.

Even logged on as administrator now I can only browse very few sites.

DNS resolves them OK . I tried to download a file from one of the sites

that work

and got a message saying it could not download because my security settings

were too high. Every security setting in IE is as low as they will go .

I get the same results with fire fox.

Another thing to try is checking Group Policy restrictions.
