Hi,

ASPEED is an IC design house in Taiwan. We are interested in the RDP

protocol. Is there any way to get the specification?

Re: About the RDP Specification

Hi,

If you want the RDP specification, then you need to license it

via the Microsoft Communications Protocol Program (MCPP).

MCPP Info:

http://www.microsoft.com/about/legal/intellectualproperty/protocols/mcpp.mspx

Terminal Server Task:

TS Licensing Info:

Re: About the RDP Specification

The specs of the RDP protocol are available only to RDP licensees.

If you need precise details of how RDP works, then you need

to license it via the Microsoft Communications Protocol

Program (MCPP).

MCPP Info:

http://www.microsoft.com/about/legal/intellectualproperty/protocols

/mcpp.mspx

TS Licensing Info:

/TaskInfotermserv.mspx

http://rdesktop.sourceforge.net/

Has the following comment:

"The RDP protocol itself is essentially an extension of the ITU-T T.128

(aka T.SHARE) application sharing protocol."

Since rdesktop is GPL, it comes with source code, which should do a

pretty good job of documenting the protocol.
