Win2K3 - R2 hanging problem.

Hi,

I have installed a new Win2K3 - R2 Server as member server of the domain;

with roles of File Server and Print Server.

We have folder share for users on the server and all users are mapped to

this share. Folders have rights as per different groups and users. The

problem is that sometimes the response for users accessing the files on the

server is very slow. Its fine normally, but suddendly the access to any file

or while saving it hangs for sometime and gets back normal.

There are no sort of errors in the event viewer or any sort of performance

issue.

I have enabled the File screening option to block audio, video and installer

files as per built-in templates in the R2 for this share. Before i applied

these blocks, i had transfered some installer and music files to this share

during moving files from old to new R2 server. Also i have enabled quota for

few of the folders within this share.

The server has 2 gig NIC. I have enabled Team Settings as -

Team Type Selection: Transmit Load Balancing with Fault Tolerance (TLB)

Transmit Load Balancing Method: Automatic (Recommended)

Speed/Duplex Setting: Auto/Auto

No VLAN settings

Only one interface is Sending/Receiving. Other is only Sending some packets.

The network utilizaion is normal, with peak going to just 5%

Both NIC are connected to gig ports on the switch

I am out of ideas, what can be the possible problem or startwith ?

Please guide.

Thanks,

abckid.
