Server performance degrades over time

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hello. I am not sure which of the myriad Windows Server groups to post

[to], so I hope this is as good as any. Please direct me to more

appropriate groups as you see fit.

Anyhow,

Single Windows 2003 Standard SP2 AD environment running:

AD

Exchange Server 2003 Enterprise SP2

Symantec AV

Ninja Spam filter

file sharing, et al

-on-

HP Server

2xXeon 3.0 GHz CPU

2 GB memory

single homed NIC

Over time, performance drops which is corrected by reboot. No viruses

or other malware detected. Average 87 processes.

I will await some suggestions to refine my details before going on

ad-naseum.

Thanks,

mIke

Re: Server performance degrades over time

Hello Mike,

What application/service is filling up the performance problem, did you check

in the task manager?

Best regards
