Super slow email

Over the last month, my email has got really slow.

As far as I know nothing has changed.

I have Norton on my laptop, I assume this is what is "scanning" my emails as I send them (ie the Symantec pop up box showing rate of progress).

In the past, any emails up to 2 or 3 meg would take just a few seconds. Now they can take an hour or more.

Who is doing this, what can I do, any help please??!!

Over the last month?

How long has Norton been installled?

Have you tried altering the norton email settings?

Is anything else slow?

 

Any new programs installed or anything else come to mind?

About three to four weeks this has been going on.

At first I thought maybe it was just too busy...

Norton has been installed for over a year (since new).

I haven't changed any Norton settings, though I understand I could disable this.

But why is it happening now??

Nothing else seems to be affected.

 

I installed firefox maybe at about the same time as this started....

Try using Internet Explorer. Also, does the problem persist if you disable Norton for sometime?
