Guest Dave Patrick Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Re: Is there a tool to Scan the registry for errors on Windows 2003 se Depends on what you're looking for. If the system starts and logs no errors to the system event log then technically there are no operating system errors. -- Regards, Dave Patrick ....Please no email replies - reply in newsgroup. Hi - unless you're having problems, I suggest that you leave your registry alone. Don't rely on scanners & cleaners that can do more harm than good. [And OT, but note that writing "M$" instead of "MS" or "Microsoft" will make most readers assume you're a *nix bigot with an axe to grind---which won't get you a lot of help even from people who don't drink Microsoft kool-aid.]

I use it all the time on different Windows machines, and the developers state that it is safe to use on Windows server. It's free as well, but make a backup of your registry first with regedit or I think CCleaner can do it for you as well. ~Elliott -- Elliott Gaskill IT Director ADx, Inc.
Guest Dave Patrick Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Re: Is there a tool to Scan the registry for errors on Windows 2003 se Exporting the entire registry to a *.reg file is not an acceptable means of backup. You can't import the entire registry. Better to make system state backup instead. -- Regards, Dave Patrick ....Please no email replies - reply in newsgroup.
