Hello all , recently I ordered a Corsiar TX-650 , I also bought a new GIGABYTE GA-73PVM-S2H with E7200 and I bought an AKASA AK-965.

My old motherboard I was replacing was a VIA PM9 series Motherboard to this GIGABYTE.

I was then made aware of a process called 'XP repair install' , and I read up on it and Got my XP disk handy.

When I switch on the PC , It starts up , fans spinning , DVD drive spinning , but no display , the monitor is just on standby mode.

I then looked at the keyboard and when The PC starts up thier are no lights on the Keyboard , and no POST. I connected my 8800GS inside it and connected my DVI-VGA and powered on , all the fans were spinning (GPU , CPU etc) , and nothing , no display.

The keyboard normally should show 3 lights and they were none. So I changed my GPU to my 8600GT , powered on still no display .

I then switched to on board DVI and VGA and still no display or POST , my case had no internal speakers so I cant hear the Beeps.

The only thing I can think of is to reset the CMOS by putting a jumper on it , I doubt it will work.

These are the things I kept the same when replacing my Motherboard.

1. DVD drive

2. Sata HDD (1 hd)

3. Case Fans

4. Case

5. DDR 2 667 2GB ram , (I also have a spare 1gb ram)

Thanks , please reply soon.

-Bindo.

Take whichever of the 2 GPU's you have OUT of the MOBO and then try it - that MOBO has onboard a built in GPU and you probably need to set it up in the BIOS for the Add in cards :)

If you are still getting no joy after this - check that all the PSU connectors are in place - especially the 24pin cable and the 8 pin cable on the MOBO

If what Dalo says does not fix your problem I would like to kind of back up his solution of checking the cables as I once had this problem, and if you go to this link here to see an image of your mobo to make it easier to explain.

You see the small 2x2 socket above the CPU? make sure that there is a lead from your PSU going into there :)

Final hope....

Well I tried all your advice and unfortunately my monitor still won't boot , I also tried to use 1 gb of ram and still the same. I'm going to reset the CMOS , my last only hope (I can think off) .

Thanks

Edit : No , unfortunately no avail , still the same issue , The only things I have connected are a , HDD , CPU , MOBO , RAM , PSU, VGA cable to onboard graphics and a DVD drive.

I know for a fact the Ram , PSU , Monitor are fine.

Glad you found the problem and hope the replacement works :D

Hopefully when it's all up and running you can come on and let us know if the problems are fully fixed or not :)

And to Dalo, Opps! :) But my PSU only has a 2x2 connector it fit in there! no such thing as a 2x4 on my PSU!

Lol.. Am I at fault for only having the 2x2 then?

They come like that as they will run on a 2x2 but if you are using a powerful chip say a Q6600  you should really have a 2x4 in there :D

you sure there isnt another 2x2 lurking around as dependant on the PSU manufacturer they use 2x 2x2s or 1x 2x4 if that makes sense

That maybe why your computer takes 2-3 counts to boot - I know mine takes 2-3 as its clocked slightly higher than it should be ;)
