chris lovett Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Hi, I went to log onto my computer today and suddenly my password doesn't work. hmm.... So i try and old password from about a month ago. and it works Bigger Hmm.... So i log on and all seems to be well and then change password and all works fine. Now is it possible that my computer automatically did a system restore? if so is there a way of tracking this? Cheers Quote If Computers always worked i would be out of a job. BeeCeeBee Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 and it works Bigger Hmm..I don't know what that means Chris. It seems unlikely that there was an automatic system restore unless there is some bug that has ordered it. Windows does set restore points though. The easiest way to tell is to simply go to your system restore and check the dates in bold. See if there are any notes other then the basic system checkpoint. Cheers You will notice major changes with a system restore - programs that you installed since would not be there (normally) Quote Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)Asus P5K premium black pearl4GB OCZ Reaper 8500260GTX Join Free PC Help - Register here Donations are welcome - here PC Build We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. After all, no one knows everything and you may have the answer that someone needs.
Tootech Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Is it a standalone desktop PC Chris, or do you login to a domain? Quote
chris lovett Posted January 8, 2009 Author Posted January 8, 2009 it's a standalone PC. And in the last month i have left my computer pretty much alone as i have a new laptop so been playing with that just using the computer for more higher commanding jobs such as games. so nothing has been installed recently which i think i would notice. is there anything else which might have reset my password (Before i get sent all the antivirus page i got all that already :D)Quote:and it works Bigger Hmm.. should have read:And it works.
