I need additional help with this issue. Back in December i followed your instructions and downloaded and ran all the programs, and i'm still having problems. It didn't get rid of the virus at all... still unable to get my chat progs running... i deleted them and reloaded them as well. It's causing intermittant issues with Outlook express, and my internet access as well. Please help! Edited by DirtyPolo

Hi Shemani,

I have checked and this is your first post on Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help. Obviously you must have been following along with threads started by others. No problem with that as sometimes that works out fine.

Anyway, please be as precise as you can in answering DiryPolo's post so that we can give your problem the specific attention it deserves.

Temporary Help

first off i'd say see if it is infact a virus by using a free reliable scanner

i have listed two below. Symantec (the makers of norton) and McAfee (the makers of McAfee). Please note these are personal recommendations and freepchelp.uk doesn't support them in any way. just a little disclaimer since i don't think they like it when i provide links to download softs. Hope these help alittle till the big boys get here and tell u how to fix the problem.

symantec (free scan, will locate but not remove virus): us the security check feature to scan without intalling a software. you will need to run active X

Free Virus Scan - Free Antivirus Software | Norton Security Scan

Mcafee (free scan, will locate but not remove virus):

Antivirus Software and Internet Security For Your PC | McAfee

With regard to the links provided, they are genuine links to reputable sites but, correctly stated, are not endorsed by Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help.

We do have a list of recommended software and emphasise that we have no financial relationship with any of them.

None of this, however, identifies the problem raised in this thread and I suggest that posting solutions is, at best, premature.

When i attempt to log onto any chat programs (AIM, YAHOO, MSN) the windows pop up and attempt to log in, but then they shut down and i get another window that says ' pyagcore.search.searchdetection <NULL> '

Occasionally it effects my internet explorer as well... will either cause it to not open or close in the middle of use. Also is effecting a few other programs intermittantly.

As stated in previous posts... i have found your other threads with advice on how to download and run malware programs that should clean my computer and rid it of the 'virus' that's causing this problem. However even after following all the steps to the letter and running several sweeps with each program, i'm still experiencing this problem.

Do you have the kiwee toolbar? If so uninstall it before following the malware removal guide.

For that matter uninstall all third party toolbars first.

Also make sure you update those programs first even if you have just downloaded them.
