Guest tom.doniphon Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Hi, colleagues My question is What security rights are they necessary in windows 2003 Standard Edition to create a service? Many thanks in advance.
Guest Martin X. Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Re: Security rights for service creation Hello: I think you mean "start" a service. Creating a service makes me think of writing the code for the actual service. Anyway, check this out: Logging on the server as a service: http://help.globalscape.com/help/secureserver3/Log_the_server_on_as_a_service.htm. Basically what you would do is create a user account for this service to logon with. Then you give that user account the right to logon as a service. Note that the user does not necessary have to be part of the Administrators group, and for security reasons, you would not want to do that anyway. -- Regards, Martin X.
