I can't get into my msn messenger/hotmail account. Or myspace. I noticed this about a week ago and thought it was a remote problem. I can access all other sites but not theses two.

I hope someone can help?

Initially try resetting your broadband router. Switch off the power to the router, wait a while and switch it back on. If you're running Norton Internet Security or similar, temporarily disable it to check whether a firewall is blocking it. If that doesn't fix it, scan the machine for spyware or virus infection. There are other reasons but let's try that to begin with.

I know this sounds strange but a long time ago I had trouble accessing my MSN and hotmail mail accounts too. Try deleting all cookies, temp files, history and all "off line content" as well.

 

Problems with MSN Messenger were usually related to a server problem.

 

I have not tried Myspace yet but it still might be worth trying deleting all temp files. A reboot afterwards might help.

 

Without knowing more I'm just guessing but it couldn't hurt.

 

varispeed you must know something I don't. Does he he have broadband?

 

Of course Norton products-firewalls- spyware-viruses may be an issue but I don't even know what version of Windows he has let alone what other software.

thanks for the help guys. Have deleted all cookies and temp files. Also have just installed Zone Alarm which seems really good but still can't sign in to msn or myspace.

 

Its driving me nuts, however I'm sure i'll get there in the end.

check that your security in the internet options is not set too much, other wise it blocks downloading.

hi im running on windows xp-home edition and for some reason every time i try to log onto the internet it says cannot find server...can anyone help me???
