Error: Service Unavailable when loading webpage in IIS 6.0

I have a Windows 2003 Server which has IIS 6.0. Whenever a user goes to

webpage on this server, they would get an error 'Service Unavailable'. It's

started happening 3 weeks ago.

It seems to occurs when W3SVC stops:

'Application pool 'DefaultAppPool' is being automatically disabled due to a

series of failures in the process(es) serving that application pool'

When checking the http error log, it would have the following:

503 1 AppOffline DefaultAppPool

Connection_Abandoned_By_AppPool DefaultAppPool

This server is not a domain controller. It does not have Active Directory

nor does it have Sharepoint installed.

Usually when I restart IIS, the issue is resolved temporarily. However I

have just tried restarting IIS several times and so far the issue is still

occuring.

Any suggestions would be greatful.

Thanks,

Wanda
