Hi,

Our server crashes almost Two times by day : the screen is grey and we can

move the cursor. It doesn't respond to ctrl alt suppr but we can ping the

server.

No particular evt.

Installing SP2 hasn't changed the problem.

Any advice ?

Hello behemoth,

Can you connect remotely to the event viewer to check it for errors?

Best regards

Hi,

During these crashes RDP don't work but yesterday I had the same problem and

unfortunately there were no errors related to this crash (in event viewer).

Hello behemoth,

So you have errors in the event viewer? What kind of them?

Is it always the same time when it happens? Maybe some software brings the

server to this state or Virus, malware etc.

Best regards

Hi,

No errors related to the crash (same errors months ago)

I'll try to check if a software is the cause.

I mean Remote Access is disabled on the server.

Hello behemoth,

Is that a solution for you or only a workaround?

Forget this solution. The server still crashes even without RDP.

Re: Grey screen and mouse cursor

Hi am having this same problem. I have not had the opportunity to

restart the machine yet but came in after a day off and my server was

at gray screen with just mouse cursor.

could not directly link any errors to this issue in event viewer,

except there were several SBS2003 security patches that went out on

install over the holiday when i wasn't here. Server was fully

functional and issue free when I left the office not 48 hours ago

RDP is not able to connect.. it says RD has disconnected please try

again or contact administrator (me) ha ha. Should I be able to see a

terminal services certificate server if I had been using RDP

previously? I am unable to find this service... although all the proper

services seem to be running on the server when i connect via computer

management.

Server share seems to be fine so all client computers are happy, I just

can't get in to manage anything. SOS! PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hi, I have the same problem on a DL380G5 server running Windows 2003 Server SP2. Did you fix this problem?
