Guest nobody Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 I am having a problem with one of my dcs (dc1). So on dc2 i ran ntdsutil and seized all 5 roles. now on dc1 when i try to run dcpromo to uninstall ad it gives me an error The operation failed because: Active Directory could not transfer the remaining data in directory partition ...... to domain controller dc2 The source server is currently rejecting replication requests any idea?
Guest Meinolf Weber Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Re: seized all roles - still cannot run dcprmo Hello NoBoDy, Please do not open always new postings without the complete situation what you have done. This is now the 3rd posting about a story NOBODY here can follow, because you don't post what you have done before (ghosting a dc, adding additional dc to domain, shutdown one dc from the domain, installing the ghost image and wondering about that the new dc is missing and trying to bring the domain running again). Doing it on this way you can not get good information and people here thinking about a problem without knowing the story. So please use one posting for one story so that everybody here can follow you. And this question belongs to the postings with subject "Problem" in this NG and "Missing A record on DNS serve" in microsoft.windows.public.win2000.dns Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. ** Please do NOT email, only reply to Newsgroups ** HELP us help YOU!!! http://www.dts-l.org/goodpost.htm > I am having a problem with one of my dcs (dc1). Guest nobody Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Re: seized all roles - still cannot run dcprmo you are saying I should run this on the physical DC1? right now I took my ghosted virtual machine dc offline. I brought back the physical dc1 online but that is having problems with replications with dc2. I have seized and transfered all roles to dc2. but dcpromo on dc1 is getting error saying source server is rejecting replication requests should i run /dcpromo /forceremove a last option?
