Guest Stewart Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 I have posted to the Terminal Services subgroup, but need to get an answer as soon as possible to my question. I have set up Terminal Servers before, activated the license server, and installed TS CALs, but this is a new one for me. I have need for a server to be setup for clients and I have signed an SPLA license agreement with Microsoft. I have installed Windows and am ready to configure Terminal Server, but need to make sure my tokens will never expire since I will be paying for them on a monthly basis through my SPLA licensing program. I've configured the Windows Server to be Per User, and will be setting licensing as Per User with the Terminal Server License Server (will be the same server). Once I activate the server, will it take away my tokens if I have not installed any CALs? I was told from the reseller that I cannot combine regular licenses (like purchasing 5 TS CALs from CDW) with SPLA licenses on the server that is completely SPLA licensed. I was thinking as long as I have 5 TS CALs installed, and just paid monthly for my users connecting, that I would be okay; but if I cannot combine the CALs, I need to make sure that the users can still connect after 90 (or 120 days whichever it is) after the Lincense Server is activated. Any and all ideas, suggestions, thoughts are greatly appreciated. TIA, Stewart
