Guest John Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Hi all, We have windows 2003 active directory. With SQL server, should we configure the WIN server to achieve performance on the TCP/IP of adaper settings? What about NetBIOS settings? Should we check the default or enable Netbios over TCP/IP?
Guest ILKER SOGUT Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Re: Need your advice on SQL2000 and WINS Hi In Windows Server 2003 Domain , If you dont have any application needs netbios name resolution, you dont need to use wins service, And for your SQL server it also same, if you dont have any application or program that uses SQL that reqiures Netbios name or uses netbios name , you dont need to use wins. And dont forget that maybe you have legacy clients needs Wins, If you your clients later than W2k no need to use wins. good luck ILKER SOGUT "John" <John@discussions.microsoft.com>, iletisinde şunu yazdı, news:C6BD9699-00A3-4FEE-9C9E-8AE314F1CE7C@microsoft.com... > Hi all, > > We have windows 2003 active directory.
