Tootech Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 It may boot from the CD/DVD drive automatically, but if not, select the CD/DVD from the boot menu. Quote

DirtyPolo Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 you need to boot into the BIOS on the laptop and chnage the boot up device to CD ROM drive before Hard Drive, save and exit and then restart Quote Cooler Master HAF 932Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 3.3GHzAsus P5K Premium Black Pearl2GB OCZ reaper 1066MHZATI Radeon HD4850Pictures! RandyL Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 I didn't notice that Clipper had run a diagnostic that produced #10009 replace hard disk. That being the case a new drive should fix the problem. I'm still a bit confused on one point though. Perhaps you can give me some insight on this as I don't understand something. If a hard drive is dead can you still boot to a bootable CD such as the recovery console cd? It seems that was a side issue. Except in Vista it's called the Recovery Environment I think.
