I live in an area of Canada that is renowned for it's rain fall and gray dismal days with that wet stuff dumping on us is nearly enough to turn us moldy at times ... but I wouldn't trade it for the beastly hot temperatures you've got right now, DSTM - egad!! (Just thinking about your temperatures is enough to make my freckles start to come out and my skin to blister - eep!).

Do realize that likely most people have central air conditioning in their houses and surely also air conditioning in their cars ... but how on earth does one survive if unlucky enough to have neither, I wonder?

Pretty Hot here today, again. Currently 43C. Record is 46C. The leaves on the trees are curling up. Could do with a bucket of ICE right now,Mara.:)

Wonder if everyone carries gallons of water and a pot holder in their car - for those times when the radiators in their cars protest mightily to the heat?
Posted

Hey mate, I have been through those temperatures and trust me, I know how uncomfortable they make you. I think the highest temperature recorded here is 50°C and that is the hottest I have been through. I can only say that wear a cap and cover your eyes before you step out in the heat; this should at least reduce your chances of catching the Loo.

Am literally trying to comprehend how one actually can breathe in temperatures as high as 50 degrees! Egad!!!

('d love to travel to India and other hot Countries but someone would have to develop a 'super doper' sun block for me as I blister right through white cotton clothing!).

Lol Mara; you are always Welcome here. Just make sure you don't visit in the summer seasons or else you will be roasted alive. :D

I would suggest June as the best month for travel in India as the seasons are changing and the temperature sticks at around 35 * C.

Just wondering what is the best month to visit different Countries.

Here in OZ,the best month is April,as temps are around the mid 20's Celsius.:)

Yipee, I can plan my imaginary itinerary now - April in Australia, June in India! Gosh, I wish we still traveled as I've love to be heading out on the first place leaving on the 1st of April! (Especially since I've always been one of the lucky ones - never, ever had a lousy vacation in any Country! Rarely did my luggage accompany me - but from the stickers on my suitcase from so many Countries I wasn't heading to, it had a wonderful trip too, thanks to the various air lines - huge grin).

Canada is a great Country to visit in the Winter if one loves to ski or snowboard, etc - and other than getting rained on most any time, it's honestly got lots to offer during all months.

This heat here, has been pretty well full on, for about 3 weeks now,and had enough,to put it mildly.

I do worry with these high temps, the poor Pensioners, that can't afford the Energy Bills to keep cool. Many pass away in over 40C Temps.

Revised Forcast for today is 40c here, add the Humidity, and real uncomfortable.:)

it seems Australia and UK are not only opposite sides of the world but also of the weather at the moment!

there's you with your sweltering heat and over here in UK, we're having the heaviest snowfall since 2003 I believe!

More snow expected here tonight and tomorrow, then it dies away apparently.

Still, i'd prefer to be here in the snow than in high temperatures like that :(

I agree there Mara!! WoW indeed! Beautiful shot, that one. I finally got some decent temps here. Been up in Idaho where it got to 9degress at night. (F, or course LoL) Now it's a much more manageable 45 or so. Not much snow left, but more to come, I'm sure!

It must be breathtaking to stand there, perhaps especially at sunset ... the beauty of this planet is never ending! How lucky you and others are, DSTM, to be able to see these in person.

Are you off to Australia anytime soon to visit your sister, Sir Trews ... would sure be a shocker arriving from your climate to the searing heat in Australia right now - eep!:)

Hi Match,It's a small world, isn't it,having your Sister, living in the same neighbourhood as I do.

Hope sometime, you can visit,as it is a beautiful Country.

Most of the year here, where your Sister and I live, the Temps are quite comfortable, just now, we are experiencing a heat wave.

Today 40C Tomorrow 42C and Sunday 44C.

Winter,rarely gets below 0 Celsius. :)

Hi DirtyPolo. The Seasons seem to be Hotter and Colder, than normal.

Something Magical, looking at a fresh heavy snowfall. Not so nice as it starts to melt, and you have to shovel, your Driveway.LOL.I spent many Winter Holidays in Austria, and loved it. Can't Ski though.

The first effort was to hit the only tree,in the vicinity.:p

Lol yes the seasons seem to be quite bi-polar recently :P

I also have a friend in perth but don't contact him as much as I should do :( a long lost friend from High school.

as for skiing, it is my dream to move somewhere with the alps close by or canada. as I absolutly LOVE skiing, and then in the summer when the snow melts, I am a huge fan of mountain biking, so they seem to be my perfect places to live :)

An update of the UKs weather sees the snow disappearing sometime tomorrow night :( sad but glad to see it go :P

Hi DTSM

I really hope to get down there on a visit a some point but I don't see it happening till my Kids leave school, my Mom's been down three times and says how nice it is, and from what my Sis says the life style is a lot better than here.

Hope this makes others smile too. Apparently people put out a bowl of water and a hot little Koala in Southern Australia decided to not just wander in and have a drink, but was wise enough to take the opportunity to cool off.
