I'm building a new system (going to try to build a new system I should say) and need to know what the difference between these motherboards are. They are all within my budget but I am really not sure as to whether the most costly one will give me better performance or not?

Motherboard Bundle AMD Phenom 8750 2048MB 800Mhz DDR2 Heatsink And Fan Foxconn A7VMX AM : MBB-87502G

Motherboard Bundle Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 2048MB 800Mhz DDR2 Heatsink And Fan MSI Intel : MBB-P45842

Motherboard Bundle Intel Core 2 Duo Q8200 2048MB 800Mhz DDR2 Heatsink And Fan MSI Intel : MBB-P45Q82

I appreciate any comments you can give me.

Thank you

Well obviously they are different processors included.

I would be a bit wary of them as the last one claims it comes with an "Intel Core 2 Duo Q8200" but infact the Q8200 is an Intel Core 2 Quad.

Also the first one says in the overview that it is a Micro ATX board but the specification says it is standard ATX

Basically Mantona,

What you going to use this new system for?

Gaming, work, normal everyday use?

Also they are very quite highly priced for what you're getting.

You would be much better off price-wise buying them seperatly, as you can get a very top-range board for about £120, and a better processor than what's offered there, for about £140, which is £30 cheaper than that bundle.

I will be using the computer mostly for my photo editing/dtp. But will be starting to move into some video editing as well.

I am very unsure of fitting separate components. Is it difficult?

Thanks

In terms of 'value for money' quads offer more 'bang' for your money and you can add them into a variety of MOBO's

you just need to make sure that the MOBO supports your needs - no point getting one with 6 SATAII ports if you only intend on having one or two HDD's, as little things like this bump the price up - you are also more than likely going to need different RAM than you currently have -

Go for a Q6600 and whatever MOBO and RAM suit your budget and requirement - JUST make sure the MOBO takes the Q6600

Oh and have a look at my build guide for building a PC :)
