BeeCeeBee Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 I am sure you will get some reviews here Gavin but in the meantime have you checked any other planets? :D Sorry couldn't resist. Quote "Familiarity breeds contempt - and children." Mark Twain

Dalo Harkin Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 ASUS are well known for their quality of components on MOBO's and GPU's - I have not had much experience with ASUS lappys but if they follow in the footsteps of the MOBO's - they probably are the best on the planet :D Quote Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)Asus P5K premium black pearl4GB OCZ Reaper 8500260GTX Join Free PC Help - Register here Donations are welcome - here PC Build We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. After all, no one knows everything and you may have the answer that someone needs.

RandyL Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 How is the support? Is there any online chat support or email support that's free? In my opinion if you're going for a name brand computer then free support options should be a must. FAQ's, Trouble Shooting and Forums are OK but to me that says "Well here is what we have. If you need more contact us for a price". I know you asked about quality and I can't answer that. But it does seem to me if it is quality any good company would stand behind it. Like I said I don't know ASUS though. Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. BeeCeeBee Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 That is an almost impossible question to answer. From what I gather Asus is well known for its mobos and related hardware and a more recent entry into producing laptops. That can be both good and bad as they do not have a track record as long as Dell or HP, etc. But may also strive to produce a better than average system in order to build a reputation. One just does not know. Quote "Familiarity breeds contempt - and children." Mark Twain
