Guest Patrick D. Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Hi, During installations of several Microsoft-Programms on the new Server, I see, that "at least Windows 2003 SP1 is required". That means to me that the compatibility of the OS is not yet very fine-tuned. Is that true? regards Patrick

At release, the programs should work or they may need an update. Check the specific website for the programs in question about Windows Server 2008 compatibility. -- Jupiter Jones [MVP] http://www3.telus.net/dandemar http://www.dts-l.org "Patrick D." <PatrickD@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:43344358-15AF-4BEE-8BD5-04882AB2AB22@microsoft.com... > Hi, > > During installations of several Microsoft-Programms on the new > Server, I > see, that "at least Windows 2003 SP1 is required". > > That means to me that the compatibility of the OS is not yet very > fine-tuned. > Is that true? > > regards > Patrick
Guest Patrick D. Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 Re: Windows Server 2008 RC0 Hi Jupiter, Thanks for your answer. You are right, that RC0 is not the final version. But I was sure, that a RC0, which is not beta anymore, can be used for all testing-scenarios. For the moment we have to wait, since not all programs can be installed to test them on the new system. Guest Jupiter Jones [MVP] Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 Re: Windows Server 2008 RC0 Patrick; RC 0 is a Beta, the difference now it has the RC designation (Release Candidate) However the words do not necessarily mean as they appear since there will almost certainly be at least two more RCs. -- Jupiter Jones [MVP] http://www3.telus.net/dandemar http://www.dts-l.org "Patrick D." <PatrickD@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:D68ECB6B-4109-4719-9D34-4CFEDE119E87@microsoft.com... > Hi Jupiter, > > Thanks for your answer. > You are right, that RC0 is not the final version. > But I was sure, that a RC0, which is not beta anymore, can be used > for all > testing-scenarios.
