Guest Wolfeymole Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 I find no driver either because that 5920g is not listed on the Acer website. Are you sure you have the right model number? Quote
Willissimo Posted January 22, 2009 Author Posted January 22, 2009 yes, im sure, its standing on the notebook, aspire 5920g. Quote
Guest Wolfeymole Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Can you tell me where it is in this list? http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn266/FPCH/5920.png Quote
Willissimo Posted January 22, 2009 Author Posted January 22, 2009 maybe its just the 5920 and they forgot the g Quote
RandyL Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Are you getting any error codes? Have you checked for any problems in device manager? What burning software do you have? Have you looked at this thread for a possible fix? I was able to locate your model on the Acer PanAm site. However I didn't see any specific drivers for your DVD unit. Willissimo Posted January 23, 2009 Author Posted January 23, 2009 in device manager its "unknown" and there is a ? but it tells me "working without problems. i use no burning programms, i deleted them all because they caused problems with fallout 3 and securerom i tried the "cd Fix" also the regedit - solutions with deleting the upper-lower files, nothing worked. so whats wrong? RandyL Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 I would venture to guess that you need to reinstall the drivers. The basic Windows ones. If that doesn't work your optical drive is probably failing. Uninstall the device from device mnager and reboot. This should prompt Windows to reinstall the drivers. The fact that you can read some CD's and not others leads me to believe that the drive has physicall damage and needs to be replaced. Your last post leads me to think the same thing.
