RDP Issue

Not sure if this is the correct thread for this question, but here it goes...

Have a user who's on XP Pro and RDP's into a W2003 server. We have a GPO

setup so that they are unable to copy and paste to/from their machines & RDP

sessions. However, when this user has a session open in full screen, he is

unable to copy and paste on his local machine all together. But when the RDP

session is minimized or smaller sized (not full screen), copy and paste can

work locally on his machine.

The user has tried this on another machine and can duplicate the issue. As

far as I can tell, no other users are having this problem. Sounds profile

specific!

I've searched high and low for an answer on this, but no avail. Just short

of blowing his profile away and re-creating it, anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Phil

How is he copy pasting on his local machine with RDP fullscreen?

Multiple monitors? or did you mean that he is unable to copy paste in

the RDP session when it is full screen?

Re: RDP Issue

Ah! Good question.

Yes - multiple screens with RDP fullscreen on one monitor trying to copy and

paste locally on the other monitor.

No - to the copy and paste within the RDP session; just the local machine.

Re: RDP Issue

Check the settings in the user's rdp client, under Local resources

- Keyboard and change them to "On the local computer".

Alternatively, teach the user to use the Edit - Copy / Paste menu

instead of Windows shortcut keys.
