tricey Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 Hi, I have got my new pc (it isnt new, i got it given. I have installed DOD hard drive) And i inserted the XP disc in and Chose BIOS to boot from CDROM. I have partitioned it and formatted it to NTFS. It then copies the setup files onto it. It then says that it needs to reboot. So... I let it reboot and then it just starts over again. I have checked almost everything. Please can someone help. I know your all legends so please. MAny thanks in advance. Adam Quote
Guest Wolfeymole Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 When it rebooted Adam and says "Press any key to boot from CD" I bet you pressed a key yes? Wrong move and this is not your fault. Start again and after the initial "Press any key to boot from CD" PRESS NOTHING when it asks again. Quote
tricey Posted January 24, 2009 Author Posted January 24, 2009 i will try this now. Thanks please stay online Quote

Guest Wolfeymole Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 Shut down and re-start still having the cdrom as first boot option. It will ask you to Press any key to boot from cdrom. Delete ALL previous XP setups. Delete all partitions. Create a new one and allow XP to format it. Do not press anything when it asks you to Press any key to boot from cd" on subsequent reboots. Just let it install. Quote
