Sonicwall CDP won't restore AD unless AD is up.Help!!!!

Hi

Our win2k server throws the error "security manager service could not

be initialized; restart the server in active directory restore mode".

After restarting in active directory restore mode and running ntdsutil

(semantic data analyzer), there was a problem with Jetdatabase. So I

tried to restore AD from backup (Sonicwall CDP). According to

Sonicwall tech support the restoration can be done if AD is up. How do

I check if AD is up? What process/service? The Sonicwall tech support

even goes to the length of saying reinstall the OS and recreate AD.

How do I do that?
