Hi, I wonder if anyone can help.

I need to access the program files of a recently downloaded OS for my BlackBerry before I can install it on the handset.

I go to "My Computer", double-click on "Local Disk ©", and this message appears;

Windows cannot find 'copy.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, then click Search.

The Disk does not open, and I've no idea why.

Anybody got any ideas?

Adam

A copy.exe error message is indicative of a very specific virus or trojan that results in the exact symptoms you are experiencing. It was probably introduced with the blackberry software you downloaded.

What was the source of the download?

Thanks for the quick reply!

I got it from a site called BlackBerry Forums. The link is posted below;

What do you think I should do now? I have Norton Anti-Virus and am suprised that it didn't detect it. Should I just run a check?

Although Norton is not very good - run a scan and see what it says - normally if it has not detected a Virus upon installation then it wont on scan - but you can try it.

Can you right click on the HDD in my computer?

That is a quite known and common issue Adam. Please use Flash Disinfector to dissolve any damage that might have been done by the infection.

By the way, your resident Anti-Virus might detect it as malicious. So, please disable it temporarily to avoid that glitch. Let us know how it goes though.

Good Luck. :)
