TS licensing

I have a windows 2000 domain controler windows 2000 TS server I add a windows

2003 TS server I bought 2003 TS cal I need to install them but I want to

make sure I don't mess up the current 2000 TS I am still going to be useing

the 2000 TS so my question is can I isntall the 2003 ts licens on a windows

2000 license server with out messing the windows 2000 TS.

No, you can't. A 2003 Terminal Server needs 2003 TS CALs, and those

can only be installed on and issued by a 2003 TS Licensing Server.

So you'll have to install and activate the TS Licensing Service on a

2003 server, the same server as the 2003 TS or any other 2003 server

in the domain.

And that's no problem, since a 2003 TS Licensing Server doesn't have

to be a DC anymore.

Point your 2003 TS to the 2003 TS LS, and all should be well. Thu W2K

TS will continue to use the W2K LS on your DC. No risk for messing up

those licenses.

so I need to install the 2003 cal on the 2003 server. can you have two server

on one network doing TS licensing

Yes, that's no problem, you can have multiple Licensing servers.
