Guest Betsey Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 So our Windows 2003 print server seems to have an issue. It is a newly formatted server, with service pack 2 on it. It has about 70 printers installed with various drivers from Ricoh 1515 to HP 2550 drivers. But certain drivers it does not like. For example I'm trying to install a HP P3005 and anytime I install the driver it just locks up the printer properties. It will lock up on the Finish window of the printer wizard. Then if you try to go to the properties, perferences, anything of the newly installed printer it won't go and if someone tries to print to the printer it gives them errors (like you don't have a printer installed, this printer isn't working properly, etc.). I've also tried other HP drivers and am getting the same thing. Anyone ever seen this or have any ideas? The majority of these printers/drivers were imported from a previous Windows 2000 server.
Guest Mathieu CHATEAU Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 Re: Print drivers Hello, please ensure that you have the latest driver version. You shouldn't use printer autorun/wizard, but manually install driver from .inf & .sys files. For HP, you have a look on their universal printer if you don't need special feature -- Cordialement, Mathieu CHATEAU English blog: http://lordoftheping.blogspot.com French blog: http://www.lotp.fr "Betsey" <Betsey@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:C0C9853D-8D75-4EC9-A412-65880FC89147@microsoft.com... > So our Windows 2003 print server seems to have an issue. Guest Betsey Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Re: Print drivers I am using the latest driver. I have tried a universal driver. I am not using the cd/autorun but am manually installing a printer and pointing it to the downloaded driver location.
