looking into SBS premuim as it comes with SQL workgroup edition.

With this version i get 20 windows CALs and 20 SQL CALs.

I have windows XP licences so i take it the windows CALs are for connections

to the server ?

Thank you.

Hi,

Yes, you're correct:

The Windows CALs will actually be SBS CALs. Each SBS CAL allows one

device or user to access the server.

The Windows XP licenses on your client machines are completely separate.

In other words, if you have 30 Windows XP clients that are going to use

the SBS server, you will need 10 more SBS CALs. You also need a CAL for

anyone connecting remotely via a VPN.

Hope that makes sense!
