Matrix89 Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Hi, i was wondering if anyone may be able to help me. I dont know much about PC's and so i dont really know what to do. My PC was sat on a shelf (had no room anywhere else) and my little brother decided to plug headphones into it in order to listen to music. However, he forgot he had the headphones on and walked away. Well you dont need me to tell you what happened. The PC came crashing to the floor. It now wont turn on. Originally it would turn on but my monitor detected no input. Then it started turning off. I would turn it on, after 5 minutes it would turn off. Every time i turned it back on it would stay on for less and less time until now it just wont turn on at all. I have no idea whats wrong. I have tested the Power unit in a different PC and it seems to be ok. That's all of my ideas out im afraid. Basically i just have no idea whats has been damaged. My uncle built the pc for me from scratch but i bought the parts. I only had it for 3 months before this damage so im eagre to save it if possible as i will have wasted a lot of money for such short usage. I dont really know what kind of information any of you will need in order to possibly help me with my problem so just let me know and i will do my best to find it for you. I would really appreciate any help you may be able to give me, even if it is just to say "bin it" or advise me to take it to somewhere like PC worlds repair clinic. I was reluctant to take it in case it was a simple fix or i was just going to be paying money to be told i had no hope of repair. Thanks alot. Matrix89 :) Quote
maynardvdm Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 hi. some ideas might be to open the pc and check that all cables are connected tightly and all expansion boards are sitting in place. also check that the cpu and ram chips are securely in place. good luck. Matrix89 Posted April 26, 2007 Author Posted April 26, 2007 Hi, thanks for the idea. I did that but they all seem to be secured well and in the correct places. Nothing looks to be damaged. Should i just take it in to somewhere like PC Worlds Pc repair clinic? Will they take it if its not one of their PC's? Thanks, Danny (Matrix89) Quote
