Guest mindy.parsons@gmail.com Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I have several Windows 2003 servers which after a time the applications launch into the background for some odd reason instead of the foreground. It's not specific to the application - eg. open a notepad file and it opens greyed out. A reboot clears the problem, but after a day the server goes back into behaving this way. It makes it impossible to switch from the Summary window in SSMS to activate a Query window, and when at a CMD prompt, the history window pops up after the first entry and I can't get rid of it. Then I reboot and wait for it to happen again. Has anyone heard of this kind of behavior?

I have a keyboard and mouse attached to the switch they're on, but I connect by VNC from different machines.
