I am using Windows XP Professional service pack 2. My question is does windows XP has any restriction on hidden folder size? For example I have a personal folder at E:/ whose size is quite large(nearly 3.8GB). Whenever I try to hide this folder, the hidden option appears blurred so that I cannot check the box. I have noticed the same thing with many folders of above 1GB. Please help me on whether it is possible to hide those folders?

Hello Swagato. Your anomaly doesn't seem to apply to me as I can still hide my 12 GB folder if I wish to. See the attached screenshot.

Where exactly is the folder located that you are trying to hide? Also, I might be getting personal, but what files does the folder actually contain? It might be that Windows XP is unable to hide certain kinds of file.

If you cannot provide me with the above information, then let me know the exact folder path so that I might proceed with my instructions.

Just adding onto Goku's post.

There are some folders that you cannot hide, is this a folder you have made yourself? Or a windows native folder [one that was already created by windows] such as System32, My Documents, etc.

I am the creator of the folder. I am also giving a screen shot of the properties window, where you can see for yourself the location, name & size of the folder. As for the contents, it is nothing special- a lot of e-books in pdf or djvu format and some word documents. I want to hide it because I have its shortcut in my documents and do not want clutter my view of E drive. I am also giving a screen shot of the immediate lower level for your convenience.

As for Goku's post his Read-Only button seems to have been deactivated. Precisely this is the case for my Hidden button.
